>>12679861I know the feeling. Braviary is a bro among bros, one of my favorite Pokemon, and all in all he isn't really too bad, but Staraptor has gotten a lot of help from the higher-ups at GF. That speed, Close Combat over Superpower, and especially those ability options. It's a shame. I enjoyed Raptor on Gen IV, but as a late game, late evolving, (and IMO cooler) mon Braviary deserves better.
>>12679885Absolutely. As I said, Braviary is at least decent. A little Fighting goes a long way.
Also, Talonflame is shaping up to potentially be quite solid. Fire helps with Steels a lot, and he's confirmed for Brave Bird so he won't get Unfezant syndrome. If his stats are well-distributed (he'll definitely be speedy and hopefully powerful) and he gets good moves (I could see Jump Kick or Close Combat, ExtremeSpeed, and Wild Charge in addition to STABs) and abilities (Reckless? Moxie? Technician? Adaptability? Something new?) he's got serious potential. The attention and descriptive flavor text being lavished on the Fletchling line hints he might be a favorite or somebody they think is worth showing off, and if nothing else his design and basis (finally a falcon mon!) mean he's probably going to be a big X and Y bro.
