When you get into fictional settings and stories, everything gets tossed out the window, because you have people who will ship characters. It matters not if the setting involves humans, aliens, gods, demons, animals, or even inanimate objects. No matter what, it will happen.
Pokemon has a huge variety of characters, and so it stands to reason that such things will happen in the fandom. This is helped by the fact that the typical Pokemon has been displayed human level sapience of sorts. Because of this, they have grounds for personality and--
