they support double battles, and triple/rotation battles aren't played because they don't exist on simulators

Because smogon is based around the single battle metagame. I'm pretty sure most official tournaments are either single or double, as well. Triple battles aren't quite as fun.

Triple Battles are what nobody really likes and what nobody bothers to simulate.

Double battles are a blast, though!

If Smogons are such masters of metagame and strategy, why do they refuse to use Mind Reader, Lock On, Faint Attack, Aerial Ace, Shadow Punch, Magnet Bomb, Swift, Magical Leaf, Shock Wave, Sacred Sword, Haze or Sweet Scent and claim that evasion is "broken"?

I know you're trolling, but Foresight is actually used somewhat often on Blastoise, and Hitmonchan/lee/top.

It's used purely to ensure that Rapid spin will go off even if the opponent switches a ghost type in.

Oh yes, I completely forgot Foresight, Odor Sleuth and Miracle Eye. None of those can be used but moves like Rapid Spin and Baton Pass are almost mandatory in every team. Smogon logic - you simply can't explain that. Pic related, it's Blastoise.

Because a limited amount of Pokemon can learn those moves, and every Pokemon can learn Double Team.

To the point where you'd just wait until you killed their Weezing with Haze or whatever, then double team up your Bulky Sweeper and win.

How is that fun for either person?

Granted I don't play smogon anymore because I'm so tired of fucking weather it hurts, and I hate legendaries in general and they've got Latios and Latias rolling around while Blazekin is banned because he's GOTTA GO FAST.
