The original video is from a user named utuber6061, who makes recreations of Pokemon music before they're fully released. Not official, but it's probably pretty damn close to what we're gonna get though.

Also, can anyone do hypothetical calcs on the damage in that screenshot? Talonflame used Flame Charge, STAB 50 BP move, on Noctowl 15 levels below. Knocked him down to at least half (yellow HP bar). What sorts of Attack stat could we expect there?

Flare Blitz
Brave Bird
Close Combat(Pokédex Entry)

It's like they set Staraptor on fire and switched it's Speed and Attack.

Mitebcool with a band, especially with Flare Blitz for the big Steels and a rumoured resistance to Fairy. Stick it in Sun for maximum relentless fury.

Of course, Crafty Cocks are a big problem.

100 Att and ~120 Speed is pretty likely and definitely workable. BB is confirmed, FB is probable, and the site info about "devastating kicks" to me means Blaze Kick and/or Jump Kick (Dropkick in Japan). Reckless could be fantastic on him. Ability may make or break him, really.

Realistically, he's GOING to be a good playthrough mon, speedy and reasonably strong. I just hope he gets some toys that make him useful overall.

I suppose it could afford to lose Close Combat, although it misses coverage on Rock without it.

I don't think Reckless is unreasonable at least, it seems a fairly headstrong Pokémon.

Taking into consideration they don't seem to use EVs/IVs in demos.
This is actually very impressive, probably because they expect it to take a lot of recoil damage?
I'm guessing high HP, Attack, Speed, shit defenses and Sp. Atk.

This pleases me. I was expecting high Attack and Speed and shitty everything else. HP being respectable is a pleasant surprise, and very useful for sponging recoil off Brave Bird and potentially Flare Blitz. I was just afraid they'd try to make him mixed and botch the stat distro.

Yes, Utuber is a great extrapolator when it comes to these things.

In fact, he was the one that most accurately predicted the BW2 Rival Battle music when this exact situation happened long ago before BW2's release.

He might not be perfect, but he gets it pretty damn close, most of the time.

Not technically, but it's likely. It's almost definitely a 3-stage family: the official site refers to Talonflame as "an evolution" of Fletchling, and it also has that Pokedex picture with two spaces after Fletchling. But given his size, design, and the dramatic difference between the two, its almost certain there's a middle stage between them.

100 range attack with Brave Bird is a great start, and we know he has great speed. I am surprised by the decent HP though. At least we don't have an Unfezant repeat. He might get a few extra stat points to work with too: Staraptor's BST was slightly higher than Pidgeot's, and Unfezant has a bit more than that. He's lucky to be a 3-stage line so he isn't cursed by the "acceptable for level 20 evo" constraint that's on Swellow and Noctowl. I'm guardedly optimistic about Talonflame being a solid Pokemon.

I hope the Fire resisting Fairy moves rumor is true.

It probably is the final evolution. The design has too many differences to be a direct evolution and they would have just said it's the evolution of Fletchling instead of "an" evolution of Fletchling.

That's what I'm saying. Talonflame is not a Pokemon that needs to evolve again: he looks damn good, he's the size of previous fully-evolved early birds, and the tentative stat calcs are consistent with a third stage mon. Additionally, the dex spacing and the huge jump between Fletchling and Talonflame indicates a mon in between, who could potentially be a pretty cool guy.

Taking into account Japanese names, Jump Kick is Drop Kick and HJK is Jumping Knee Kick. I could definitely see JK happen, it would work well flavor-wise and would separate him from the Close Combat and Superpower bearing birds.

Who knows. A bulky one or a special bird would be cool an all, but that's very, very clearly not the path dear old Talonflame is taking. His speed has been waaaayyyy emphasized, and the stats and moves shown indicate he has decently high attack, too. Maybe he could be mixed, but his defenses would have to be literally non-existent given the info we have about the rest of his stats.

Honestly, Talonflame has a chance to be a solid physical Fire/Flyer. Bellyzard is near unheard of now, Moltres is obviously special, and Ho-oh is locked away in Ubers.
