So what do we KNOW about the Fairy type's particulars(weaknesses, resistances, etc)? What's just rumor at this point?
I've seen that it's immune to dragon, has no resistences or other immunities, is weak to steel and poison, is on SE to dragon, and is resisted by fire and psychic but I've also seen that it's SE to dragon, dark and ghost and resists them both.
What's the deal?

Only two things have been confirmed:
1) It is super effective against Dragon (confirmed at E3)
2) It is super effective against Ice (confirmed on Pokemon Smash)

The reliable rumor is that it is weak to Poison and Steel, immune to Dragon, super effective against Dragon, Dark, and Fighting, and Fire and Psychic-type Pokemon take half damage from it.

But that rumor didn't mention ice, so who knows.

Nope, they only showed the super effective thing for poison. Its only 1x against ice.

Why did it have to be resistant to Dark? Dark's already resisted by Fighting and Steel. It didn't need to be resisted by one more type.
