And besides, he never said "only" two rivals. He just mentioned two rivals and how they'll act. We still don't even know how the 5 companion system is going to work, seeing as there's a total of three starters and two of the kids are already confirmed to be professor roles.
Just like he probably didn't test every single type against Fairy, those weaknesses and resistances he checked probably aren't all of them.

Rock is shit, one of the worst types. It's not even comparable. Gen 2 made sure to make a big splash with Steel with Skarm and Forretress. Gen 6 will for sure have a defensive Fairly, since it was explicitly said to be a type for nerfing dragons. My uess is the "Mew" of Gen 6 will fill one team slot. Gen 6 will likely have an offensive one too. With only 2 resists, offensively it will wreck shit.

1 Resist being 1 of the more prevalent types in among strong Pokemon, and it's weakness being another prevalent type among strong Pokemon.

Not to mention their are 3 FUCKING POKEMON perfect for Fairy Fucking now.

Metagross, Jirachi, and Bronzong.

And then you have OTHER Steel Types who while not resisting Fairy Beams, will hit them like trucks with Bullet Punch

People tend to have more that one Steel Type
People will also tend to kill your Magnezone before letting out their Steel Types

Disregarding those 3, you have plenty of Steels types that learn Fighting move and can outspeed Magnezone and who can also bust out a Steel move to crack Fairy Skulls if they really become a problem

Magnezone does not somehow make the entire Steel Type obsolete, hell Fairy's even mean that Magnezone actually has a reason to carry Flash Cannon now.

Even Magnezone gets in on Fairy Raping.
