I made a painstaking effort once to catch all Gen V legendaries in Dive balls. I don't know why, but it just seemed like something randomly rare that I could do.

I prefer luxury and premier balls but I like to use balls that match the pokemon I'm catching color scheme. For example Lugia in a heavy ball, which happens to also work very well.
