Making a custom ROM for White 2. Gonna make the starters Houndour for dat Fire/Dark, Staryu for dat Water/Psychic, and Shroomish for dat Grass/Fighting. Does that seem okay? Should I use a different type trio?

Its just a randomized White 2 rom. I was inspired by Chaos Silver to try to make my own. It's nothing special, but I'll still upload it if you want. It may take a while, though.

The problem with dark-psychic-fighting is that dark is immune to psychic rather than just resisting it. Also, all of your starters are single evo, and Staryu requires a Water Stone to evolve.

I would be okay with single evo, but I totally forgot Staryu needed a Water Stone. Should I swap Staryu out for Slowpoke? Should I go for a different secondary trio entirely?

And then it doesn't even matter because your second STAB is super effective.

So oh no you have the psychic starter and your rival has the dark type starter, you're doome-
Wait no it's a fight between a Starmie and a Houndoom. That's water against fire. He's absolutely fucked.
