How would a mono fire team deal with water?

Is it possible without using Heatran, Rotom, or Zekrom? Is there some specialized moveset or item you can use to reduce water damage?

Chances are, a mono-fire will be a sun team. Thus water is weakened

Like breeding Ice Fang onto Luxray. Ground types are immune to Luxray's native Electric attacks, but are weak to the Ice type damage granted by Ice Fang.

Ninetales brings Sun to weaken Water.
Volcarona gets Hurricane to take advantage of the Rain.
Houndoom can get Thunder Fang.
Emboar and Arcanine get Wild Charge.

Lots of them get Energy Ball or Grass Knot, and if Sun-based, Solar Beam.
It not too difficult to have one specced for coverage.

To take out Fire-type teams Grass has Torterra with STAB Earthquake and Ludicolo with STAB Surf or something. In addition, plenty pack Chlorophyll and other Sun abilities to share the advantage, though they'll be frailer.

Against Water Grass is obviously already stacked, with Ludicolo specifically being good at fighting Water-types.

Against itself Grass already has more than enough Poison or Bug to deal with threats.

Though of course Grass won't probably survive.
