Sup /vp/

I'm currently playing through Platinum for the second time, I've just reached Snowpoint City. In case anyone saw my thread the other day, I'm the retard who fainted a shiny Gastly in Lost Tower.

Here's my team, I'm becoming annoyed with my Fire type:

Torterra (Brave) Lv.46
Gengar (Modest) Lv.45
Gyarados (Adamant) Lv.45
Staraptor (Jolly) Lv.45
Houndoom (Mild) Lv.44
Porygon-Z (Modest) Lv.26

I've just got Porygon and traded it back and forth between my Diamond to get Porygon-Z.

Houndoom is a fucking dead weight, he can't take a hit from anything short of ten levels below him. I don't want to use Magmortar because he's fucking ugly and I don't want to have Magmar in my team knowing he could be stronger but also uglier. I also need someone who can use Surf who isn't a Water type, because there's no way in hell I'm giving it to Gyarados, and I don't really want to have to make a space on my team for a HM slave.

Can anyone recommend any way I could improve my team? I'm not really into EV's and IV's on regular play throughs but I do like to have good natures on my Pokemon.
