And just because Lickilicky is pink doesn't mean it should be fairy.

I don't really care about the new type at all, but if they retype some of the pokemon I like, ones that have no reason to be fairy like Lickilicky and Snorlax, I will be severely butthurt. And the thing is I actually think gamefreak is stupid enough to retype them.

There will be no more old pokemon turning into fairies than the evo lines of the pokemon announced already.

9, possibly 10 if they change Gallade into fairy/fighting, is more than enough pokemon to have changed as they will only have to add 17 or 18 new pokemon to bring the fairy total to 27 which is the same amount as ghost at present. They can add such a number fairly seemlessly among the new pokemon this gen so all these stupid posts that insist that "such and such a pokemon is small or pink or is normal type or hardly ever used because it's crap so they'll be making it fairy" are rubbish. Lest time there were types added how many pokemon had their types changed? a grand total of ONE evolution chain for 2 new types, they didn't even change any for dark type. Game Freak want new types to have a minimal impact on past pokemon so they'll not be changing every normal or psychic pokemon to fairy type any time soon.

Although a chance that such a retcon could take place equals ZERO, I still find the prospect itself rather dreading.

A Fairy/fighting pokemon is a sight that I want to see happening as soon as upcoming gen, but Gallade is possibly one of the worst spots for holding this combination.

Lets use some logical thinking here.
Back when gen 2 was released, they only had 151 pokemon to work with, almost none who's designs or abilities were even remotely Dark or Steel related.
Now, they have 649 pokemon to work with, and a good chunk seem to already have a "fairy" type gimmick to them.
Why in the hell would they not make Clefairy a Fairy type?

Yosei are creatures that include Yokai (mythological Japanese creatures).
Lickilicky is based on Akaname, a yokai.

Because it is an alien, not a fairy.

Don't you know the difference between extra terrestrials and ultra terrestrials? Making Clefairy into a fairy type pokemon would be like classing camerupt as a grass pokemon.

Let me get this straight: At E3 Game Freak revealed that only 3 older pokemon would be changing their type.

You want clefairy, and probably everything else that is pink in colour or normal or less than 4ft tall or cute or has 'normal' type or is underpowered and not used as a result, to become fairy, despite Game Freak stating that out of known pokemon so far there were only 4 that were fairy type (this being before the 5th Flabebe was anounced).

Fairy has more candidates because since the start GF has kinda lumped magical creatures into the Normal or Psychic typings, even if they didn't quite fit in with their peers in the same typing tree.

Yes it is.

Anyway, consider Xerneos and Evyltal STILL have ???? as their type even after the fairy reveal, this mens they are not fairy and there are still more new types to be revealed. I'd be a little more cautious before you retype half the pokedex as fairy as there'll have to be some pokemon left over to retype as gia, cosmic, temporal, holy or whatever new types Xerneos and Evaltal turn out to be.
