I think Hilbert looked best and they tried to recreate Hilbert's look with Egoraptor after the complaints about Pineapple head but they sort of messed up and didn't make him nearly as good, so he's like Red tier to me.

why are dudes so afraid of their player character being even slightly perceived as feminine? Are you that insecure? Hell, he's wearing jeans and a jacket, that's totally not feminine OR masculine. He's even got big-ass boots on. Or do you need potent displays of masculinity to live vicariously through? I just don't understand why some imagined femininity is such a big fucking deal.

Personally I think he looks cool and like he has his shit together, and is confident in his appearance. He doesn't need to dress a certain way to know he's strong. He's like one of those fashionable guys that fucking rocks what he wears because he knows what looks good and fuck your insecure buying-in to needing to be "manly".

Platinum Lucas was great too, but Hilbert is just the easiest example of a modern day Red done right without the pants being tucked into shoes nonsense or being too flashy.

The problem with Gamefreak is that they make the Girls look girly as fuck (nobody could deny that they are girls) and the boys look like Dykes.

So either you chose a manly woman, or a girly girl, but you cannot chose something that genuinelly looks like a boy

Generic mcs and player characters are drawn pretty slim and with big eyes a lot in Japan anyway.

Honestly I think the only issue is that his legs could be a bit shorter. He'd look properly younger that way too.
