I was ~10 years old when Red and Blue came out. I bought Blue and a friend bought Red, but he moved unexpectedly shorthly after that. I had only just started, hadn't even delivered Oak's package, it didn't seem important. I didn't play for a while when my friend moved, and when I started again had forgotten all about it. Couldn't go forward for a long time, just kept levelling up Charmander. Finally remembered the package, and played with ease from there.
