I use the name Kiro or something close to it in every game I play, isn't mine but I named my cat that first and eventually it became part of my usual online aliases.

My rival is usually the normal rival name.
back in grade school I would name it after guys that girls I had a crush on liked instead of me

I use my own name now. Used to do Michael with everything, but recently I started using Mike or Mikey so that it's more like a form of escapism. It's still somewhat familiar so it feels a little like me, but it's different enough that I feel like a seperate version of me.

To those who use their own name for every version of the game: why? Won't you get confused when you're trading mons across generations?? I usually go with the name of the specific color of the game I'm playing, that way I don't get my mons mixed up across gens. Shit gets confusing when I have to categorize them when completing my pokedex.
