the player is walking past the gym and a kid pushes a giant snowball down that knock's the protag down, then a bunch of kids crowd around and start pestering you about wanting to see/play with your pokemon, then Foster shows up and shoos off the kids and talks to the protag about the pokemon league challenge then enters his gym... So maybe you could design the town to force the player to walk past the gym?

I believe I have made a WORKABLE(?) color palette for Eluchadon, and by extension, possibly Luchito. My Eluchadon sprite, which is over the color limit, is on the left. The color palette that I've just cut down to is on the right. This color palette, if I am counting correctly, is 15 colors. This color palette uses some colors already on the sprite, and some that are very similar. I'm posting this here because LORD knows I suck at sprite editing, so I'm gonna do some CROWDSOURCING and throwing this out there for anyone to try their hand at. I'll work on it when I get home from work tomorrow. I guess just try to use as similar colors as possible for now.
Also, one thing I forgot to fix: if you look at the right arm (Eluchito's left), there's a gap where there should technically be tail. Just fill ti in yellow or some shit.

>>12735275 I kinda think it should be alittle less snowy, and then the next route should be transitioning from snowy->almost rock/dirt->grass
Also maybe have the lake tak up the bottom left corner not the whole bottom. That would help a bit more in transitioning. Also after Route 3 is a forest, so the transition needs to be in Route 3 of before.
And like I said maybe a little less snow on the right side of town and then make the left side of Route 3 into the main transition.

>Fortune teller He travels through the region with his Fantasmare-driven wagon (like pic related) and gives tips/visions to the player of the future (you meet him in many towns, cities and major locations), the method you get those tips from him is undecided.
His Signature Pokémon are Vultergyst-line
They could be:
Battles
Money
Riddles
Puzzles
>Reccuring Conman Sells fossils, relics that become Seddirot/Grolem, bitter herbs, rare items, etc
>Trick Master Works as trick master in RSE, except the "trick house" is his wagon. You get to do this in several towns and by the end of each you get a prize.

>>12739043 The pic is here
>>12734647 >Ancient hero In the plot (see pic) there is mentioned that in ancient times Quetz dragon was released and destroyed almost all of the Poké-Aztecs' civilization.
However, it was stopped by a mysterious hero, who disappeared without a trace soon after.
Fortunei is that hero. The reason he is still alive today is beacuse he is immortal (youth-wise) after saving the world and interactions with Xochi. What attracts him to Urobos again is that he got a feeling that that shit is happening again, but this time he wants to watch and play with people minds. He can also stop the Quetz again if no other of the current time manages.
Beign immortal explains his mysterious and odd behaviour and also the ability to forsee stuff; He has seen it all before.
The air of mystery would be really useful, because we could either play that to our advantage and keep his backstory intentionally foggy throughout the whole game, or reveal all in a grand spectacle.
>The End-game Challenge End-game battle like Red, only harder.
This could be fused with the "ancient hero"-concept to see that he wants to test the new hero.
Some suggested that he could have different colours for each time that you meet him.
Did I miss anything?

They discover gold in Urobos (created by the golden idol), and, through excavating it, discover golden tablets which describe the idol's powers over the common elements and its ability to gild any object it chooses. Cue their quest for the idol which incites the wrath of Quetz as they disturb his slumber. Cue Quetz's imminent button'ing of the region before you and the Seven/Gym Leaders step in and take both Quetz and the evil team. They can easily be used to discuss what are probably our shared valures as 4chan users and what we feel about anonymity, the limits of anonymity, and open internet in a way that speaks to 1st Worlders eager to be special but belong in the first case (very easy to touch on what it means to be human too) in the first case or in the second create a big, traditional adventure that can weave in our legendaries very easily and give players of the fangame a nice sense of familiarity and scale. "What if pokemon were real" with some warning against extremism and fascism in all its forms. There's also Team Destinos which has some god damn stakes, unlike the gold plot, and keeps the protagonist in the center of the story without making them the only spoke on the wheel of it and a great sense of advancement from the changes that are made. We can pick and choose among these ideas, which I think are the best ones, or none of them. The impetus of discussion isn't on one person. What I'm saying is that you've settled too quickly on much, much too little.

>>12740441 I agree. Its stunning how few people get the fact that every region is a yin-yang of one sort or another.
Nature v Civilization, Tradition v. Modernization, Human control over environment v. environment's control over humans, Peace v. Order, Truth (the player, and Ghetsis' corrupted truth) v. Ideals (N and Neo-plasma), and whatever Gen 6 is.
That's the core of a Pokemon story. Two conflicting extremes co-existing to create a world where Humans and Pokemon, themselves conflicting extremes, are equal.

>Team Ramet : (Ramet is a member of a clonal colony, anagram of MEART Project which in the real world created a semibiological computer adaptively learning) Full of amoral scientists and adventure archaeologists, this group of volunteers dress in full costume and forego their names in favor of Aztec-god derived ranked codenames. They believe that the idea of the Self causes all strife in the world and that Selfishness can be destroyed when there is no individual to unfairly prefer. A cult as much as a research group, they travel the region stealing three ancient pieces of a stone mask that in long ago times summoned from the Heavens (outer space) a God of Death (powerful ghostly pokemon). This mask was destroyed by the forgotten ancestors and entrusted to the equally shattered aspects of the God of Life (three powerful and closely linked ghostly pokemon representing the elements of sky, land, and sea from the spirit world) to prevent any calamity or abuse of power. Ramet has created Pokemon life artificially in the vein of Mewtwo in the forms of Man's greatest ages of achievement and uses them to achieve their ultimate end: to reform the mask, resummon the legend of the void, and use its powers to destroy the minds of every single person on Earth to reform into a gestalt hivemind and achieve their dream of peace at the cost of individual consciousness. In the end you may decide to side with them or against them at the last moments -- but only if you capture the Big Boss Space Ghost. Very similar to Curiosus, but likely colder and more clear about the Spirit World and what they want to do with it. Was it that hard?

What if Northington, shamed out of the scientific community over his obsession with the lost city of gold, uses the last bit of his money to fund a personal expedition, along the way he meets up with a wealthy woman and her 3 mooks who offer to help him in his quest. Little does he know that she's secretly after the Gold Idol who's rumored to be there. Northington unwittingly helps Team Evil discover the gold city, at which point they find Xochi running about. Mistaking her for the gold idol, the evil team capture her, causing Quetz to awaken. While you fight the evil team mooks, Fancy woman and Northingtion continue further into the gold city, into a great temple where the gold idol is supposed to live. After defeating the mooks, their Golem's abandon them, having deemed them unworthy as trainers. You can encounter them from now on in key locations in the game to be decided. Your HP low, you continue after North and Lady. You enter the temple, down various passages, and arrive in a great chamber that looks like an ordinary field with trees and logs and a lake etc, except everything's been turned to gold. In the middle of the room you find a golden statue, It's Northington, he's been turned to gold. You continue to find the Lady, she's got the gold idol cornered. You surprise her, and a battle begins. After defeating the lady, Xochi is released, she gives you a kiss on the cheek and then she and the gold idol fly off together (they can both be encountered back in the gold town post game. Freeing Xochi calms Quetz and the world goes back to normal, you can later encounter Quetz in the Dragon Graveyard. The weather spirits will be non plot related, but random encounters like the legendary dogs.

I want the weather spirits to act as punishment towards the evil team for abuse of the land's natural wonders and causing harm to people and land alike through their search. If the golems are artificial and modern, then their use provokes the waifus to lash out and fight them off (indirectly enough that the player has no idea of their involvement until Post-game, when they've calmed down.)

Do we want to have a message about developing vs developed nations? Do any of our options create serious problems or force us to change the game itself in ways that wouldn't be fun for the player?
Anonymous
>>12740884 >No one gives a shit about the message If the consensus amongst us is that we don't want a message in a Pokemon game, then that already helps narrow down our possible plotlines.
But we need to come to that consensus first and have some general ideas about what either of those types of plots could be before we try to decide, otherwise great stories from both ends (message vs no message) will be tossed simply because some of us chose that it shouldn't even be considered.

>>12740867 >t's not enough of a motivation, and not enough of a plot, to carry a whole game. His motiviation is that he's looking for the city of gold...
what the problem is is that there's nothing inherently evil about what they're doing, we need to have some bits where the Golem mooks are fucking around in different bioms trying to find clues to the location of the lost city, which causes the Spirit bitches to appear and fuck their shit, and the protag gets caught up in the middle (maybe a gym leader or other NPC convinces him to help take out the Mook)
The Waterspirit/Erace Mook confrontation could fit into the Captain Issac story
The Earth Spirit/Eronz Mook confrontation could fit into the Shaman story
The Wind Spirit/Erindus Mook could fit in the desert or cliff city or something.

This is what I'll be touching on in the HM survey. First of all, it's important to know that: HMs will stay in-game regardless of the results of this survey. Tools will be found by optional mini-sidequests throughout the game, which could include, but are not limited to: winning at the casino, finding it deep in a mountain, completing a puzzle, et cetera. You could theoretically go through the entire game without acquiring a tool, if you don't manage to find them. You can suggest others except for: Buying them at high prices Being given them for free (by Sequoya, for example) Once you complete the dex. Buying one-use items is possible but depends on the overworld function because it is then possible to become stuck. If a Pokemon can automatically use an overworld function without knowing the move in a moveslot, the player will still have to acquire the proper badge in order to use the function. In order to use it in battle, they need to have it in a moveslot. So I'm asking: 1) Do you want just tools or autoHMs and tools? 2) If just tools become official, should HMs be undeletable or deletable? 3) If autoHMs and tools become official, should HMs be undeletable or deletable? 4) If HMs are undeletable, when should the move deleter be encountered? a) Beginning b) Early game c) Middle game d) Late game e) Post game Should I change or add anything?

How about Quetz ruled over the ancient lands and made the spirits to protect humans in their formative years? As they spent years worshipping nature, they neglected advancement so Quetz created the Golems in sequence to teach the humans industry. Quetz turned to Xochi to breathe life into his golems. Humans get too advanced and man captures Xochi and forces her to make Eidoll, to satiate his greed. Things get out of hand, quetz locks away Eidoll, uses golems to lock Eidoll away. Then has nature spirits hide the golems and keep nature in balance. Quetz then slumbers until needed again. Cut to evil team tearing up the land and sea and air in an effort to find the ancient golems, like cutting down hige swaths of forest, strip mining mountains, and irresponsibly dredging up the oceans depths with claims of advancement for society. This alerts spirits, they get golems, find Eidoll, and this awakens Quetz who wants to purge the whole region to rectify its past mistakes of trusting humans. So
an overthrown foreign secret society flees to the region and over a period of many years builds up power and worms its way into local society. They use false identities for their everyday dealings and among their own kind eschew all names and titles, wearing a face-covering uniform with clear ranks. Their ultimate goal is to turn everyone into their ideal: a connected human supermind where one person knows everything every other person knows and all our personalities and thoughts run together like water drops in the ocean, as mad and tumultuous as any one person could be. They believe this will give them, with their superior vision and will, complete power. Everyone will want to follow their ideas once everyone knows them as well as they do. For that end, they're using Quetz, who lore says has god-like power over people and was worshiped in ages past. To get him they need to reform him/his statue shell. Pieces are scattered all over the region and guarded by ancient spirits. To emphasize their obsession with humanity as a whole they create pokemon (ala Mewtwo) that entrap the ghost pokemon guardians to use as energy sources and keep them out of the way during the thefts and reconstruction. This plays havoc on their local ecologies, creating problems for the citizens that the player must solve to proceed.

Quetz is a Pokemon who inspires humanity to advance. He created the spirits to help humanity learn to harness the elements of nature. he also created he sprite to give humans everything they could want.
Humanity advanced in the Urobs region swiftly and when the humans reached a Bronze age of development they went to war. A group of enterprising humans created Eronze by stealing the heart of Patama. Quetz was enraged by the humans but loved them too much not to stay.
Eventually humanity continued to advance to and industrial age where Urobos was faced with even more war. The decedents of the creator Eronze then created Eiron with the heart of Yacuma. Quetz, ho ha begun to be ignored by the humans hid the spirits and the pixie away and turned to stone to not allow humans to advance further.
Jump to now; the evil team, the decedents of those who created the previous Golems find Machima and using her heart, they create Erace. Their ultimate goal, defeat Quetz and find the golden Pixie.

That is where the team is introduced, too, in the town right after the doucherado subplot begins so we have some solid pacing. Proceed onward a couple gyms and you're in the badlands. Furious sandstorms stop you from finding your way out until you make your way into the northern canyons and solve the golem problem with the air spirit. But they get away with the piece yet again. On and on until the jungle, where a logging company has been poaching trees and leaving pokemon homeless much to the fury of the villagers there. Turns out they're Team Whatever scouring the land for the lost caverns where the final piece is.
Maybe the player finds it first and is sent by Mangrove to finish things once and for all?
Then comes all the expected crescendo, the battle with Quetz, and (my favorite part of these prompts) a decision: is the Team doing the right thing the wrong way? Should Quetz be used to turn us the way of the Omar? As a battle slave? Or freed to do its own will from the currently-unreachable farthest corners of the starry sky?
That's a plot that goes places and leaves the player with a sense of grand scale and real effect.

Was trying to think of new items to reward our extra hard sidequests and give more of a artifact hunter feel. A set of hold items that beef each type (akin to Nevermeltice etc) but they are X times more powerful and break if it's holder faints. I was thinking we can give them to random wilds and then program it to be added to you inventory if you beat them. Or could just be a held you have to steal / catch like King's rock. We have no valid coal towns, because the two designs we have so far were surveyed before and neither reached 66%.

And we do have it Prioritized, I've set a deadline for the next three chronological maps, and when they get surveyed on the fifth, I'll be collecting maps for the next three.
but by all means map the downward cave. Mappers gonna map, and we need that.

>>12746330 You mean the Dex that we completed in only a few months with a lot of really high grade work which is finalized and ready? The only reason it's not A+ Triple Seal Megafficial is because of arbitrary standards of overwhelming approval for each design. Which is not a bad thing. We have gotten really far with it AND done top notch, enviable work. This is because of the passion of an ephemeral group with time on their side, unsnuffed by invented time limits. We don't have a publisher breathing down our necks or expenses to be recooperated. There is NO NEED for deadlines. Demos can be done when they're done and guide where our priorities are without demands on dates. Surveys can be done when maps have competition. Maps get competition by there being a first product. People get their own ideas on how to do it. Give folks the tools and you'll see tons of variations. We saw a shitload of monsters because the method was clear and we put focus on it as a group. Stick the mapping tools and sprite sets in the OP of the next thread and you'll see a fuckload of maps pop up. Until then you're putting the cart in front of the horse -- and whipping angrily at the dirt.
