Shinies are some of the few things I've been lucky with in RPGs and as bad as it sounds, I feel like I'm forgetting a couple of shinies from one game or another.

Doing a Nuzlocke Run on Pokémon Gold. Caught my first shiny on Route 26, a lvl 20 Chinchou this past January...and this afternoon, I just caught a lvl 43 Graveler in Mount Silver with one ball, no hits.

Both permaboxed in accordance with the rules; they are my unused trophies.

There is a bug you can abuse in generation 4 games to give you about 20% chance to encounter shines. it involves Cute Charm and RNG abusing a certain set of ID/SIDs. Normally a wild Pokemon PID will range 4294967296 possible PIDs. When Cute Charm is in effect, the PID range only ranges 25 possible PIDs.
If you have the right ID/SID 8 of the 25 PIDs will be shiny.
