Ask any questions you may have here, that don't necessarily deserve their own thread. I'll start off:
Is the Ranger series any good? The only spinoffs I've played were the first two PMDs and they were decent.

Ok /vp/...this will probably sound like a dumb question, but I haven't played gen 5 yet. Anyways, I don't understand the concept of hidden abilities. I looked it up once and it didn't make much sense to me. So can a Charizard, for example, have both Blaze and Solar Power if it came from the Global Link?

I enjoyed PMD Blue and Sky myself. As for the ranger series, the only one I've played is Shadows of almia. It got pretty dull fast.

You can only have one ability at a time. The only way to get the special ability is to go to the dreamworld (on the pokemon website) and find the pokemon you want.

A charmander from Dream world will not have blaze, it will have solar power instead.

Nope. Dream world abilities are from the gen V "pokewalker", a website you can link to your game. They are abilities the pokemon cannot normally learn in a game.

I loved playing the ranger games. Personally I think the gameplay is challenging and fun. The only sucky part is limited-time extra missions...

If you get it from GL it will always have its hidden ability, Pokemon you get from Grotos and Dream radar will too. As well as certain special events like the musharna on fridays.

The first Ranger was a decent bit of fun, not world-beating but above the crowd in terms of quality and I was looking forward to the second game (I think it was almia, not 100% sure).

Boy was I disappointed with that. I can't put my finger on exactly what it was missing compared to the first game but it was certainly missing something and it felt rushed, as if the programmers had half an hour to finish 6 hours of work or they'd be late to the pub. It also doesn't work on a 3DS, the only DS game I've ever encountered with that problem (ranger 1 works fine).

Get the first game if you find it for less than £5 but don't bother with the 2nd. I've not played the 3rd as the 2nd was so poor it put me off the series.

BW2's sales combined sold about as well as Platinum did, so I don't know if GF would consider the extra work required in making the 3rd versions different worth it.
I'd say it's up in the air for either scenario.

In the Battle Box for BW2 if you put a pokemon in it can you not train that pokemon in your game?
Does it stay locked in the box forever or for a certain amount of time, eg the duration of an online tournament, or can you move it in and out freely?

It's a little early to say since we don't know any story details, though I enjoyed what they did with Gen 5. If they continue that trend and inprove their writing I'd love to see sequels come back.

No, you FIND it with that ability. You dont just go into dreamworld and get that ability, you need to find the pokemon you want in the dreamworld to get it with its special ability

or you can just pokegen it, or download it from pokecheck and save days of hunting

Once you put a pokemon in your battle box, you cannot take it out and use it for other in game things, only for subway, randon wifi and VGC tournaments.

You can take them out at any time, unless its a VGC competition, then you have to wait for the tournament to be over for you to unlock them

I'm playing Platinum and I want my Eevee to evolve into Espeon at level 29 (Happiness at 220). It is currently level 28, so I can't just keep battling with it. If I just keep biking up and down Solaceon Town will it love me enough to evolve?

Bulbapedia says:
