I'd honestly recommend Eccentric Emerald or 386 if you feel up to a Hoenn game. If not there's always Fire Red Omega or Manly Pink for Kanto.

Just about to start up a Nuzlocke series based on Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, going through a game representing each generation. These are the rules so far, any suggestions? Thoughts?

Jojo’s Pokemon Adventure Nuzlocke Rules:

Basic Nuzlocke Rules:

- When a Pokemon faints, it is considered dead, and must be released
- Only the first Pokemon encountered in each area may be caught
- Nickname EVERYONE, Jojo’s is an emotional story man
- A team wipe is considered Game Over, even if you have boxed Pokemon left, for your enemy’s henchmen will turn on you

Added Rules:

The “Jealousy” Rule - No duplicates are allowed, this includes previous or latter evolutions of the same line, for it will cause problems with Team Synergy*
The “Respect for the Dead” Rule - In each death, you must honour your companions lost by not replacing them, this includes previous and latter evolutions*
The “Only Professional Help” Rule - You may not use any Healing or Status Items, unless they can be used through being held, for you are not a doctor**
The “Trust in Nature” Rule - You may use all types of berries and natural items, for the Ripple/Stand can identify the benefits or dangers of each of them
The “Greatful” Rule - If given anything, including Pokemon, one must accept it, and may use it if it is within restrictions of the other rules
The “Friendly Optimist” Rule - No Repels may be used, for any chance to make a new friend or experience something new must be cherished in this short life
The “Neglect No One” Rule - The Day Care centers are unacceptable, only training with you and your team will improve your friends’ abilities enough to help on your quest
The “Legendary” Rule - No Legendaries are to be caught or used, for there are already too many Legends in this story

*If you have/had a companion who was a Beautifly, encountering and catching a cascoon or a Dustox is acceptable
**This rule is exempt only for the “Trust in Nature” rule

Just beat Brawly, May and Wattson with my solo Salvador. Caught Splodey in Fiery Path and heading to Meteor Falls.

Sadly my experiences with raising the Lombre line is that they're fairly frail till they become Ludicolo, but they're still good Pokemon. If nothing else, she'll help with traversing water routes with her grass typing.

Wut?

I think Mamoswine would be a better choice in the long run, especially providing Ice attacks for dragons. But Banette would still be a good choice.

In my Nuzlocke I am about to start a new run of Blaze Black 2 after my first one ended at Roxanne in the trainer's school (I was not prepared at all for that).

I meant more the fact that you could have just said half weak to water and half weak to fighting but chose not to.

Update of my just started Blaze Black 2 Challenge Mode Nuzlocke; chose Snivy, named him Jorah, he is hardy with Contrary (win) and I just beat my rivals Tepig.

My team before fighting Burgh. Grinded the fuck out of Fourze so I would have a pretty secure victory. I was grinding Skyrider too...but Darukaa got a Fire Punch Crit...

Yeah I can't keep fire types to save my life. My current team was for the water gym as Coolio was ludicolo counter, Button knew sunny day to remove rain so no swift swim. Luna, Ainsley and Xenu had thunderbolt/punch with Gastons grass moves for Carracosta.

I have enough fucking water types to become the water leader myself which is why I'm unsure on what to go in with to cover most types. Zinzolin wasn't so bad in my previous run ins with him on this nuzlocke although his focus sash weavile countered my huge power Lola and it's superpower last time.

Check the documentation if you're on challenge mode BB2. His team is full of ice and water moves as well as rain dance + damp rock accelgor.

Thanks, but I just beat him. Did some swapping around so I could get a Sandstorm to counter his sashes and stuff. In the process I lost Den-O, but managed to get some Flame Charge boosts so his Accelgor got wrecked before it could get off Rain Dance.

Yeah I just remembered I had it. Thinking about reaching it to my Ivysaur, but not sure what to get. He's a semi-HM slave. He knows Cute, Venoshock, Poison Power, and Sleep Powder. Thinking of getting rid of Sleep or Poison Powder. Poison has the combo with Venoshock, but Sleep was useful in my Burgh battle as it gave me some time to drop a few Super Pots onto Typhlosion.

Another perfect gym, though things almost got really really ugly.
Clay led with Krookodile, which fell quickly to Gladius' Drain Punch. Next out was Claydol, and Mier took out a significant portion if its health with Muddy Water. Then, surprisingly, Clay switched it out for Seismitoad.
Persephone went out to deal with it, and 1-shot it with Leaf Blade.
Claydol made its return, only to be Crunched to death by Antlion
Nidoking, the versatile killer, was sent out. Mier scored a critical Muddy Water, ending the beast.
Then came everybody's favorite, Excadrill. Luckily, no sandstorms had been set up yet. Prompto went out and popped the balloon with ExtremeSpeed, meaninglessly scoring a critical. Antilion was switched in and almost was killed by Excadrill, but it managed to get off a single Earth Power, giving me the win.
Skyla's going to fuck my shit, though.

Decided to hold off on a post of my Nuzlocke as to avoid any of that boring Pre-Gym grinding.

Chose Chikorita as my starter, caught Silverman on the first route and then ventured up to route 46 through the gate to the north and found Sarah the Spearow.

I've always like Spearow so I threw Silverman in the box for later in case Sarah bites it. Following through, I found Jenny on Route 30 and discovered Bumpy Clit at the end of the route in the Dark Cave.

Just made it to Violet City, going to level up, visit sprout tower, etc,. and mess with Faulkner's life.

(Also, levels are a bit outdated, merged the layers too soon. Will have to redo them completely.

Most of her team is laughable, since there aren't a ton of insanely viable Normal types at that level.
But be prepared for a Miltank with tons of EVs in HP and Defenses.

All the fossils evolve too late. Plus Bastiodon's offenses are simply too small. Currently trying to get Jaws (Croconawm) and Pyro (Charmeleon) to higher levels, and I'm trying to get Bruce to become a Crobat. Currently level 26.

Found new members in Sprout Tower and Route 32! Introducing... Rolo and Bagleaf! Seeing as how I have Mick, I'm boxing Bagleaf for later use.

Also, we managed to get our first evolution with Jenny, evolving into Metapod.

Slowly grinding levels up there before I challenge Faulkner. May want to get Sarah, Rolo and Bumpy Clit to at least 12, seeing as how Mick and Jenny are worthless at the moment.

God damn Drayden was a bitch, the only thing I had that could really hurt him was my Aggron with Ice Punch, and 4 of his Pokemon knew Earthquake so I could barely even use him anyway.

Upset that I lost my Lumineon, oldest member and lasted forever despite being a 'bad' Pokemon. At least I have a wide selection of Pokemon to replace my losses, loads of different areas in between Skyla and Drayden.

Suggestions for what I should use?

All good streaks must come to an end, I suppose.
Things started out swimmingly. Skyla's Archeops fell quickly to Mier's Surf. I felt like everything was going to be okay.
Out came Togekiss, and in went Prompto. Prompto was my sort of ace in the hole for this gym. He was fast, and could knock those darn birds down with Strength.
He got two off before Togekiss' defenses and strong Brave Bird took him down. Luckily, Prompto had depleted it enough that the Brave Bird recoil knocked it out. Sweet Justice.
The rest was pretty straightforward. Gliscor and Skarmory both got revenge Surfed by Mier.
Last was Swanna. I sent out my fresh trainee Gordo. After 2 stockpiles, Swanna couldn't even do damage. Even Hurricane's damage was immediately healed by Leftovers. After that, it was just a body slamman trudge to victory.
Prompto, 40 levels of bro, gone.

Since that first dramatic death, I beat the first gym. They thought I started with Tepig lol, it was Milotic silly so I got a free Pansage at the Dreamyard. The gym leader had a Geodude and an Aron so Pansage came in handy, and my Watchog, Lucko, finished the job good n proper. My next ambition in life has been to fill up the empty slots in my team. I found a Shedinja in the grass at the Dreamyard not sure how long it'll last with that classic 1hp…, a Cryogonal on Route 3 (these guys can become solid bro's, this I know) and a Golem in Wellspring Cave! I've always liked Golem, and pizza! So I called her Go Pizza :)

Next time I'll be taking on the Plasma grunts in here, then making my way on to the second gym, with some grinding inbetween…

I guess I should explain. Last week was finals week/"graduation" (just the ceremony, I still have to finish up in summer school) for me, which really means I was working on stuff the week before too. In my mind I rationalized not uploading any fan features because I was focusing on my schoolwork, but by allowing myself that leeway I opened a door that is very difficult to close: laziness.

Before I realized it I wasn't even uploading the Space Cat page Tate sent me, and once finals were over I continued to slack off.

As bad as I feel about doing it though, I don't entirely regret it. This short hiatus made me realize that maybe I really needed a break to just relax and enjoy my real life for a bit. I got a chance to see and a catch up with some friends I hadn't had time to hang out with for a long time.

I think usually whenever I take a break I come back stronger than ever with the comics, so I'm hoping the same is true this time. My goal is to get the next Hard-Mode episode up in the next two weeks, but I can't guarantee anything with summer school starting up next week. Still, I'm going to try my best.

Just took out black kyurem and Ghetsis. Lost Q-Tip to a shadow triad's Absol super luck sucker punch crit and Obelix went down thanks to Ghetsis' Eelektross using U-turn into his Hydreigon which crit with fire blast. My fault for Obelix dying as I was using thrash.

Grinded like a motherfucker before Cheron, so no problem there.

For Roxey, I swept with Runway using Sand Attack x6, Work Up x6, and then Extreme Speed. She even took the Trubish's Focus Sash! So she's a good girl. If only she didn't have a -ATK nature.

So this is far as I've ever made it. It's blind from here, so I'm sure I'll white out at the next gym at the latest.

Sticking with my battle plan for now.

Get all pokemon to lv 52 (10 levels higher than their max)

Salvador and Crawmerax our first.
Ice Beam to Xatu and Crabhammer to Claydol.
Both rocks get a surf and Solrock get a Crabhammer as the Solarbeam is a huge weakness.

After I finish grinding this will hopefully lead me to victory/

After the losses to Drayden, I swapped my team around a bit and did some rocky montage grinding before fighting Marlon. I managed to beat him with only one casualty, my Drought Ninetails who sweeped half of his team with Solar Beam, before falling to his Carracosta because it had a sash. Fought the hail guy, my speed boost ability blaziken tore it up. Just fought the rain guy too and it was a good thing my starmie knew thunder. So I finally got through Victory Road and have arrived at the League. Mu current team I'm not all that confident about and once again, I have managed to get another fucking water type pokemon. On the plus side it has swift swim which feels like the game is telling me to make a rain team for the League.

I lost a good amount of bros on the way here though sadly and I never did get that Vigoroth/Slaking I was hoping for in the forest.

Almost went exactly as planned
Salvador and Crawmerax went in first.
Natu was able to get up a Calm Mind which saved him from getting killed.
Claydol and then Solrock both went down by one surf.
Natu and Lunatone had calm mind and light screen so spamming with surf was the best option.

Just beat the pokemon league on BB2 challenge mode. Sadly I lost The Clamps during Marshals battle, the rest were pretty one sided after I caved in and just used my water pokemon as an actual team. Swift swim Carlito ran circles around Iris it wasn't even funny.

I failed my Emerald Nuzlocke. Well, more like I gave up. Norman's gym proved sort of tough for me, the Gym Trainers Pokemon hit hard and I lost my final two formidable fighters. My starter, Marshtomp Lvl.32 and Strange?, a Lvl.25 Gloom.

All I have left are 5 low level reserves, and a Lvl. 21 Spoink, a Lvl. 23 Trapinch, and a Lvl. 20 Sandshrew. I haven't lost a starter in a Nuzlocke till now, and it sucks pretty hard. I think I'm gonna go nuzlocke White 2 in a moment.

Been playing a Blaze Black 2 Challenge Mode Nuzlocke on and off for a few months now. Ive never played Black/White 2 before so im doing most of this completely blind.

Ive only lost about 4 or 5 pokemon at this point, I only seem to lose them when I start depending on them to carry my team(Like that Dragon Rage Horsea I got in Virbank).

About to take on Skyla, not really happy with my movepools. I feel like im getting to the point where I need everybody on my team to have protect since the movepools of pokemon are starting to get completely retarded.

This is the best team I could come up with for the gym but im still expecting to lose some to things like Close Combat and Stone Edge.

This game is nerve wrecking.

Bring a poison pokemon with you so you can shut down his ludicolo with ease. You get Toxic in the seaside cave and throw that with venoshock and you can generally KO the ludicolo without much worry.

I didn't get a Eterna Forest catch because Cheryl was randomized with a Foretress, and it used bug bite. It killed both the Grovyle and Machamp that appeared. But because it delt so much damage, it was helpful in grinding my mons up.

They count as the same area to the game, though.

If you catch one outside Virbank and Inside, the game will show them both as Virbank Complex, thus they are the same area.

If you go by what the documentation says you'll be able to catch like 50 Pokemon in Victory Road.

Here's my post Whitney status. Surprisingly the only gym so far with no casualties.

I expected her team to have random elemental attacks, so I had Vee as the main attacker since he's only weak to Ground. I gave him the King's Rock I found in Slowpoke Well and he got flinch hax almost all the time. Fortunately Jaws is female so attract couldn't do jack. Soon she'll evolve and gain a much needed boost.

I lost yesterday playing randomised HG, got wiped by the fighting gym leader. Started up Black 2 although I didn't randomise the types this time which imo made it so hard (I've lost 6/6 times doing the complete randomisation and I grinded hard last time out, never got more than 6 badges) but kept everything else randomised.

My starter choices this time around were Tepig, Meowth and Cottonee. Went with Tepig.

Nigger I wiped at Ghetsis on my first run, my original team got wiped 2 fights before that apart from a cloyster and I rebuilt and continued. I then Replayed after I wiped and beat the league only to have my entire hall of fame team demolished by a level 105 Zekrom all on challenge mode. I'm now starting a new save for the third time to go and beat that zekrom when I get to it.

Just took out Elesa, Tick-Tock died during the leveling process which was unfortunate. Jazz and Sandy were the main damage until Elesa went on a volt switching tantrum which made me end up switching between Solid and Atom to tank certain attacks while the volt switching killed them on Atom's spikes.

Not sure how I'm going to fight Clay though, my previous two runs I got lucky and had a Seismitoad carry me through it.

Alright, post-Morty update.

With the death of Sunstroke (Numel) I had an empty spot in my team, and so Severa left the box. It took a while to grind her from level 14, but god damn she's a monster. My first time using an Arbok and I love her.

Bruce finally evolved, and his speed is definitely going to make him a mainstay for times to come and should hopefully rape Chuck.

Biggest props have to go to Jaws, though. Mother of god, she managed to solo Morty like the absolute champ she is. My body went in knots when I read "Gengar used Thunderbolt!" but she just shrugged it off with about 40% HP remaining. Agility + Crunch + DAT ATTACK STAT left Ecruteak Gym shaking. Sister for life.

My first nuzlocke, and I definitely see the appeal. I've had some heartache but that payoff is huge.

Doing a Blaze Black 2 Challenge mode run, at what point would you get your entire team to 100?

I was thinking either at Elite 4 or just after E4, I dont see myself going into post E4 to fight level 88-90 triple battles without level 100 pokemon.

Also, how do you guys handle Hidden Grottos?

Highest Elite 4 Pokemon is 79 on challenge mode. Getting to 100 is cheesing it.

I could Hidden Grottos as all individual, the chance of getting a Pokemon is quite low anyway, unless you're really lucky.

I think the AI is better in BB2 but its still pretty predictable. At the late game every pokemon they throw out has a super effective move against what you have out.

The AI might be horrid (Such as it constantly trying to use Psychic moves on a disguised Zoroark), but it doesn't need good AI when it you're up against a surprise Rain Team Swift Swim Ludicolo with full coverage.
