Monotype Run?

I'm thinking about doing a monotype run, however i don't know which type to pick.

Any suggestions to which type i should use and 3 choices of that type for my starter? Also, should it be a nuzlocke aswell?

Please help me out

Suggestions for 3 Starters? Also, should i do it randomized (Wild Pokemon,Trainer's Pkm and Abilities) or stick to the true game?

Nuzlocke should not be done as a monotype. That would be insane even for the people used to it, unless you modify the encounter rule to being a pokemon in your type, otherwise it doesn't count. You could also modify it where if you catch a poke outside the type, it can be used as cannon fodder/HM Slave. Otherwise, if you're going to use a monotype, let it be a type you like. If you want to challenge yourself, I suppose you could use something you haven't used a lot. I've never been partial to Fighting types, but I ran one in Ruby. (it was sort of a Yoshihiro from Conquest "conquers" Kyushu, which is what Hoenn was based on) I suppose it doesn't matter what game any type is done in, but know that some types aren't so populous in earlier gens.

I was going to randomize the rom and so i would be able to catch the first pokemon of that type in an area (if there is one). And i like the idea of bug or poison type as i don't really use those types that often

It's not too bad, honestly. I did a mono-grass run of emerald a while back. I just stipulated that it was the first grass type pokemon in each area that counted. I got though it with only 1 casualty, that being a Lombre that died due to hax on Wattson. Flannery was a bit terrifying, though.

I've decided that i'm going to do either a poison or bug run on Soul Silver while Nuzlocking it. Can you give me 3 suggestions on which starters i can choose from? Also randomized or not?
