Nigga you fucking wrong. Darkrai is borderline tier one and is barely 100 dollars. A good Blastoise runs around 400-500, 300 or more of that is the 3 Tropical Beaches. Plasma is maybe 300 tops. Thundarcunt isn't nearly as expensive as it once was. 120 for 4 Deoxys is the largest chunk of that.

Darkrai, eh? "Borderline" tier 1 would do just fine, the 15-20 people who attend the weekly Pokemon events at my local store are all either children or their parents, no ones funded enough for anything but crappy home brews.

Darkrai is definitely a tier 1 deck.
Or at least it is in Japan right now, maybe because of Silver Bangle.

Take in count too that, maybe we'll be having a rotation arround August.
There's nothing official yet, we don't know which sets will rotate, we are not even 100% if a rotation is really going to happen, but is really likely.
If Dark Explorers expansion rotates, you're going to lose a big part of your deck.
Also your deck relies a lot in poison right now to get the OHKOs, and on the next set Virizion EX is going to fuck that up.

If you feel the urge to build a deck right now, I wouldn't suggest Darkrai, because you know what will happen with it in one or two months.

Why don't you try Blastoise/Keldeo/Black Kyurem EX? It doesn't have anything that could rotate and harm the deck, as far as I know, and it's fucking awesome and powerful

Darkrai is not Blastoise or Plasma level but it is good enough to win with. He's right though, waiting until rotation is the best thing to do as far as investing goes. Darkrai is probably the simplest deck to build. Google it or go to any non-underground six prizes article to find a decent list. For the best publicly available lists, you'd want a six prizes underground list. An anon here could probably give you one or one similar. I won't be that guy though.

Yeah Darkrai is pretty cheap to get and it's a really cool deck, but I would highly suggest on waiting 'till we get official news about the rotation.
This is going to happen in one or two months, so why don't you wait a little?
While that happens you could play on Pokemon TCG Online against NPCs to learn the game.
We could help you giving you advice on the current format, but we don't know what will happen in one-two months lol

Curtis at about 43:00. He splits the deck into 3 piles - Pokémon, Trainers and Energies. He then proceeds to pile-shuffle twice. Pokébeach included the Ace Spec text for all 4 Trainer cards, because they're not sure which ones are. I think Gold Remover is pretty much guaranteed to be one, because the effect is powerful and Gold Potion was an Ace Spec too.

The 3 BW basic decks are slightly better than most theme decks. Just expect a lot of grinding for mediocre reward. At least you'll get a shitton of tokens to use once you are able to spend them on something.

about 300 of freeze, and 200 storm idk howmany other boosters packs i suppose its about 850 packs roughly according to those figures but i trade some also, got 150 booster credits atm, gave away quite a fue in the charity hours too lel
these are just physical cards, i got pages of email codes that i bought.
about 15-20p for a code card or £3.50 for a real pack lol?
been playing about 3 month now

you will get them cheap if you bid on big auctions like 150-200 bulk cards because less competition, but some people wont email big bulk orders and you have to pay shipping, shit if its not your country.

problem is now that code cards will redeem from the pack they are from, not booster credits like they used to before storm, this is effective from tomorrows maintenance lel
so check what your buying, if they have a mix of 20 DE 15BC and 10 PS those are the packs you will get.
shit ikr.

might work in your favor and devalue certain packs, i dont follow anymore i just get the new releases so idk.

most people will give you free shipping and email the codes, sometimes you have to ask nicely.

never really had 'fakes' some times you get people that type the code out wrong or send a code that already was redeemed, just mail them and tell them, most of the time they have some other codes they can swap out.

there are others like Troll and toad, but they dont do email and im UK so i dont use them

I stopped playing TCG back in 2002, and now that I've aged and have a job feel like coming back.

While they're not the best, you should buy at least 1 or 2 starter decks. Depending on how many people actually play the Pokemon TCG in your area, you might be better off playing the online game. What's cool though is that if you get a starter deck it gives you a code for the online game to use that deck. Same with booster packs.

I'm not sure what all the pieces of one of the tops decks trade for, but codes usually go for $.50 per code. There are plenty of people to trade with online, so it is advisable to redeem the codes online and then just trade the packs for things you want.

Buy some Plasma Freeze packs and open some and trade some for a deck you like on the forums.
There are plenty of bugs and problems but that adds to the excitement!

As someone who's pretty new to the TCG (my brother and I just started recently), are there any decks in specific that we should pick up, or certain packs that we should get? Right now I have Frost Ray, Psy Crusher, the Black Kyurem tin, and a few recent packs (I pulled FA Professor Juniper in my first pack, so that's pretty cool). I'm thinking about picking up the Keldeo tin, because right now I'm using Frost Ray with B Kyurem (and a few other things) and I feel like Rush In plus Freeze Shock is great.

thats EXACTLY the problem, there is a balancing algorithm in the code.
If you flip too many tails you get heads streak to compensate and vise-versa
you will always build up tails first thats why many people complain about the flip being biased, you would have to be nuts to run a deck that relied on flips online.
its is not a TRUE 50/50 chance random number generator, its a bag of wank.
and considering how important coin flip can be LOLHYPNOTOXICLOLZER match decider they need to sort that shit.

You realize that in your picture, your opponents have 4-1, 8-4 and 4-0 flips, right? Unless we know the algorithm, everyone's claims about how terrible it is don't say much. I played a non-TCGO game last week and went 0-9 in Crushing Hammer flips, then proceeded to flip 5-1 in game 2, is the real life coin flip algorithm broken too? Things like that are unlikely, but they happen.

And yes, HTL was fucking terrible for the game, I don't disagree with that.

Yes, actually. The head side of a coin is slightly heavier than the tails side because of the extra features and so the weight pulls the coin down and you usually end up with more tails than heads when done in extreme numbers

what is not accounted for are ALL coin flips.
first go flips are not included in the total count and victory star reflips (initial flips) are not counted in the total,
what im demonstraiting in the pictures are how closely balanced the number of flips are +/-1/2

im still bitter about that 13/heads flip with cubone i recorded the match, but suffered a bsod before i could encode the data to video
there was a streak of tails before and BLAOW 13/1 and still got 55/56 total (although there where closer to 80+flips total because of victory star)

I see this happening all the time. Many times, it seems like the game itself takes control so that the playing field evens out for both players. It's kind of annoying.
