They've got the usual favourism, asskissing and power abuse and there's a nice example of it too:
Lucky eggs are crazily hard to get
but somehow it was harder for me to get a scyther and very useful for grinding and therefore valuable. One egg could get easily you a "common" shiny.
When the move "thief" was introduced, items from trainers could be stolen. Somehow(probably programming lazyness) there was a trainer with a chansey that allways had an egg.
So what did the mods do when they found out? Check what people are using this exploit and ban them? Keep it silent until the fix? Nah, lets tell are butt-buddies about it and exploit the fuck out of it. Oh and lets pretend nothing bad happend afterwards.
The whole economy was instantly fucked up, with eggs dwinling in value that quick.
