They were weak to Poison in Gen 1 but they are not anymore since Gen 2 alluding to the fact that bugs can develop themselves to adapt to the environment and the circunstancies.

Electric does neutral damage to Steel, which considering its resistances is a pretty big deal.

Not all metals are conductive, though, and Steel type should've been Metal type anyway.

When metal is heated and cooled, it's weaker than it was before. This is why making metals stronger (I forget the word for it) is done so carefully, because you can't just mix shit and heat it.

You start metals off by melting rocks. Rocks melt to make metal. Rocks have lower melting points than most metals.

I don't think the point is being able to melt metals/rocks. Ores are mined or blasted away from rock, they're not part of the rock.

When a rock is heated and cooled, it remains at roughly the same strength. It's not effected long term by the heat.

Fighting SE to Dark works like this for me.
Dark types use trickery but can't fight.
Now if you put someone that can't fight against someone that can then the person that can fight is going to win.

Not all metals conduct electricity though. Maybe that's why it does neutral damage. If it did SE damage it would imply that all metals conduct electricity which isn't true.

Fighting is good against dark because dark is partially meant to represent unfounded fears of the unknown. Taking action or digging against these (exposure therapy) is a way to overcome. That's how I look at it.

Actually gold is the best conductor.
Lead being the least conductive of all.
And yes, steel conducts electricity well but not all steel type pokes are made of steel. Bronzong is made of bronze, lairon is made of iron, etc.

Water dillutes/cleanse poison. First thing I learned in lab, if you spill acids or bases on your skin, rinse it with water.
Bug was weak to poison in gen 1 but is no longer. This was done to show that bugs can become resistant to pesticides.

Also acid doesn't corrode just anything, it has to have particular elements in the material in order to react. That's why glass isn't affected. It could be plausible that some metals are immune too.
