I actually had a friend lend me the Explorers of Time game. They never bothered playing it so I got the chance.
And I beat it recently.

People seem to like it.
I feel like I'm missing something. I found the game really dull and annoying. Was I just playing it wrong?

I thought it was awesome, but that's because I like roguelikes and found the story to be really engaging, the music was great, and, y'know, those twists.

I had originally played Roguelikes like ADOM and Nethack and grew to really like the genre beforehand.

It's really not for everyone, but for the people it was made for, it is fucking fantastic.

I found the story to be dragging on forever, the game play monotonous, the music repetitive, and I saw all the "twist" in the story from chapters away.
Although I still dont get why I turned into a Pokemon...
I envy you. I'm not trying to be cynical, but I just really can't see it and its bothering me like. Its like trying to see a Magic Eye pic that all my friends love and I just see a pattern over and over
