I try to make an effort to use Pokemon I don't normally use in later runs of games

I found out that Drapeion is pretty good. Same with Leafeon. A few others from Platinum.

Unfortunately so because of Lilligant's terrible movepool. Its strength more than makes up for it though. I tend to put Synthesis or Leech Seed over Petal Dance as there's no real need for Petal Dance in the game when Giga Drain can take care of most Pokemon.

And yeah it sucks that it gets Chlorophyll, but man the thing levels up so fast cause of the boosted exp that I think it's a worthy tradeoff.

This motherfucker right here. I only got him so that I could beat the normal gym, but he went on to be my main man and fucking carried the shit out of my team. In the postgame I thought to get his IVs checked, and it turned out he had 31 attack and was pretty good in everything else as well.

I was playing HeartGold. I had chosen Cyndaquil.

Up until this point, I'd been wiping the floor with my Rival. Then, something happened.

His Totodile evolved. I don't know how, suddenly, it got so damn powerful. But he sweeped my entire team.

All but one.

A stray Mareep I only had in my party because I happened to have a spare party space when I caught it. I sent it out, and the type advantage clicked, but I still thought there was no hope for my poor Mareep (and for me).

One Thundershock. That's all it took. My electric sheep completely fried the croc's entire fuckin HP bar.

I won, and from that day forth, its name was UNS TISS; so every time it entered a battle, a party was being held in its honor.

Later, in Platinum, I picked my starter at random and ended up with Turtwig. That thing evolves into a freaking tank. He even takes Ice attacks and proceeds to beat the crap out of whatever hit him. And that Quick Claw I gave him saved my ass more than a few times.
