This actually makes sense. It's a mythical creature called a Water Tiger that was eventually discovered to just be a Giant Otter. Floatzel is a river otter which is closely related to giant otters. I don't love the design, but I like the idea.

Great idea, but Karrablast's natural evolution wouldn't be a heavy warrior. It would be a thief or a ninja like the original designs depict. It could be a bit slower than Accelgor with a focus on physical attack instead and carry a bag of some sort. That would make both of them physical, but I can't see Karrablast evolving into a special attacker. The shelmet one could be better(I still wish Accelgor was Bug/Water, but this would just be another bug/steel.)

I saw Jynx as closer to Mr. Mime than Electabuzz/Magmar in that the former two were Psychic types with (the same) lowish stat totals for fully evolved pokemon that you could only obtain through an ingame trade. But that was back in R/B.

Mime Jr. was introduced in Gen IV. And it's not a fixed gender like Jynx is. Jynx was always meant to be with Electabuzz and Magmar. The whole blackface scandal put that reality in limbo. As much as I hate Fakemon, this little number was something I genuinely wanted.

But Electabuzz and Magmar aren't monogender either. Of course in Gen 1 gender wasn't really a universal thing yet. Electabuzz and Magmar were also version exclusives and had the same BST back in RBY. But as noted, these groups and relationships can get shaken up as the gens go on to fit the developers' needs and regional quotas. Jynx'd probably get more mileage out of an evo than Mimey would anyway.

Gen II not only gave those three pre-evos, they put them TOGETHER. Hell, they're next to each other in the National Dex. If that doesn't tell you GameFreak intended for those three to be together, I don't know what will.
