I think it's the best of the early-game rodent Pokemon. Great HM slave and it's at least somewhat more interesting because of the second type it gains.

Of all the early game fodder pokemon Bidoof/Bibarel is actually pretty good. They make the perfect HM slave, plus since they get simple & Curse they can make a pretty good attacker. Plus they're cute

Probably because it's so bad it's good. I always felt it got way more hate than it deserved. It's not that bad in battle, it just looks a little derpy. Bibarel is pretty good in battle for the record.

Because Bibarel is the God Tier OU HM Slave.
Also because Bibarel is getting an evolution in Gen VI that Fairy/Water and can now learn Flash, Defog & Fly.

It is well designed and a great HM slave for Gen 4's in-game.
