Platinum was by far the most enjoyable game for me. BW2 on a close second.

I really agree on the starters and Team Galactic. The ambition to create their own world beats everything in the series so far. Cyrus' personality, his obsession with perfection, really made him stand out. Also, the other in the chain of command actually added something to the story. Really liked how they involved no less than six legends in the plot, too.

And the starters with their great typing, movepools, well distributed stats (for in game use, mind you) and, imho, great design, made them the best overall.

Really hated some of the gym leaders, though. Myelene is the most forgettable ever.

The team is meh. Cyrus is the good villain, but until you reach him is nothing remarkable. I agree that they add the legendary plot nicely though.

Hahahaha... no. Even with Platinum's fixes, it isn't that great. The main reason being that you don't have that many new mon to choose from.

Other than that, I agree with the rest. You should've added the region being big as fuck. One of my favorite maps together with Hoenn.

At the end of the day none of the games are even remotely challenging so saying shit like that...especially in conjunction with the usability of the starters (LOL) is pretty damn dumb.

Yeah, it should be more like Plat where you get a Lucky Egg from the get go and full heals left and right for your party so everything is completely undermined! Also, Ponyta should be the only fire type in the whole game!

A LOT of different pokes to chose for your team, for example, just before the first gym there are more than 10 different evo line to chose.
The map is HUGE. There's a lot between each gym not just a road with a bunch o trainers.
Almost no surfing routes (thanks god)
Awesome distribution of TMs
The plot is actually nice
Cyrus was really a magnificent bastard

The only real flaw is the HMs, but get a bibarel when problem solved.

BW2 is the best game so far. The only things I didn't like were the Pokémon Musical and the Pokéstar Studios.

They just added in the evolutions that you couldn't get until post-E4 in D/P and Scyther, plus a couple of 'mons in the Great Marsh. It really wasn't that great. As shitty as Gen 2 was, both Gen 2 and Gen 3 had better pre-nat dexes.

Storyline yeah, storytelling not so much. It wasn't the game to break the mold and mess with the rules like B/W did (want to become the champion after E4? Too bad, beat the bad guys first).

I liked Cyrus better than Ghetsis, but the concept of evil team as a whole has become really lame, grunts don't feel dangerous at all and some are downright dumb. (The rockets did better in that regard).

The lucky egg early in B/W was to make up for the overall higher evo level (averaging something like 40 compared to 27 for most other Gens). You had to deal with shitty Pokemon for longer, so they gave you a lucky egg to speed up the process.

For example, just in Route 214 you can with ease grind to lv 45 before the 4th gym and also there's a guy with only a goldeen that gives you lots of money, allowing you to buy nice TM's.

You couldn't even get half the pokedex until beating the E4 and most of the actual gen 2 pokemon are fucking terrible

There's a reason 90% of GS teams will have a starter, ampharos, and golem

I guess you should mention the rival as well, OP. Sure, Barry was the embodiment of autism, but he spent that autism in making sure his team was good (and grinding like fuck, holy shit that final post-game battle).
