I'm not >>12805271 but what I did for a while was not actively EV train but only send pokemon out against stuff that gave out the EVs I was interested in. It's bothersome because, for instance, Alakazam is really good at killing Machokes but that would give it Attack EVs ;_;

And actually this is the case for a lot of matchups

All grass and bug types must be hatched in a forest of somekind.

I hate seeing shit like 'Bulbasaur, hatched on Route 17'. It just seems so impersonal and unfitting.

I was a million times happier playing Pokemon before I knew about EV's, natures, IV's. My Blaziken from my first ever copy of Pokemon Ruby has a Gentle nature, and Slash/Sky Uppercut/Blaze Kick/Rock Tomb for a moveset.

The Pokedex.

The registered picture MUST match the official Sugimori artwork. (for example, had to be a male Magikarp, female Karp whiskers don't match the artwork)

This was a much bigger problem back when the registered picture was whatever form you first encountered and couldn't be changed.

In later games, if a female was the first one seen and there are no gender differences, I'll make the male form the default.

If the first Magikarp you ever saw in the game was female, the Pokedex would show a female Magikarp in its entry page. Yes, you can check out form/gender differences, but the default picture will be female. If the first Zubat you ever saw was a shiny, your Pokedex listing for Zubat will show a shiny Zubat.

This was true in DPPt, I can't remember if they gave you options to switch things in HGSS. I know they did in Gen V.

Sort of related is must fight every trainer.

If I see a Pokemon that I haven't caught in that game yet, I need to catch it. Even if it's just a rattata, and even if I'm not intending on completing the Pokedex. If something wanders in front of me and I haven't caught it in this game yet, I will go out of my way to catch it.

Every fight where I earn money I must at some point send in a Pokemon with an amulet coin.

I can't sell any items but I will collect every single one of them, even hidden items and items that respawn.

Because of all those two things, after getting to the bottom of white treehollow and beating the E4 for the second time in White2, I ended the game at just over 2 million pokedollars and probably a copy of every single item in the game.

Bonus autism: I can't use repels, because I imagine that it would hurt the wild-life and my Pokemon would look down on me for doing so, hurting our bonds with one another.

Heh, I once completed the entire Hoenn dex in Pokemon Emerald before beating the Elite 4. It took a lot of trading a grinding but it was worth it to say I did that at one point.

I feel like they may have ended it too early though, it got like what, 7 seasons? The new animation style was amazing too, it seems a waste that it was only used for a few seasons.

I think they did great by ending with a movie revealing who Eddy's brother is, but I'd welcome some new episodes.

What's your favourite episode? Mine is probably the one where they try to make Rolf's wish come true by recreating his home village. THAT'S MY HORSE!

I always felt bad for Rolf being the stranger in a strange land, I want to know more about his home country and his back story and why he came to America in the first place...

Anyways, my favourite character has to be Ed.

I don't understand how he's built like a brick shithouse and can lift houses and trucks but the three Edds are still scared of a beating from Kevin and Rolf.

The Halloween episode where Ed has hallucinations and beats the shit out of everyone is hilarious. I think I enjoy the show more as an adult than I did as a kid.

Cos I don't sweat the small shit (natures, IVs etc) I enjoy the game so much more than my friends who do care. I also happen to be the strongest out of them, so on some level I guess it works.
But the best best thing is that my very favorite pokemon is my salamence, and the one that I randomly caught in the wild has perfect nature/IV combination. It's like destiny or something

I must always have team in every gen with only the pokemon that were introduced in that gen and the following types:

Psychic
Grass
Electric
Water
Fire
Ground

and if their dual type they can't have a typing that shares with the rest of the base types(so no electric/ground for example).

I got one literally the first time I played B2 as soon as I walked into the tall grass. It had Inner Focus with a Modest nature, which was good for me because I prefer a Special Attack Lucario. Though I'm pretty sure I used up all of my good luck in that instant, because the rest of my run was filled with absolute hoseshit luck. Worth it though.

My OCD quirks for my team, I don't use single stage Pokemon because for me it takes the fun out of it when there's no evolution to look forward too and I never use Pokemon on my team that evolve in a later gen, I feel like I'm robbed of an entire part of the Pokemon. I also only capture Pokemon in their lowest stages so I can train them through all their stages. I must also be the OT of any Pokemon I use on my team.

Here's my standard team requirements:

>Starter
>Fire-type
>Psychic User
>Flyer
>Surfer
>Pseudo
>Any extras if those roles are filled by less than 6 Pokemon.
