So, /vp/, how are you going to play your X and Y?
Will you do a speed run with just a few pokemon?
Will you catch everything you see and collect them all?
Or will you play nuzlockes and custom runs?

This is the best way to go about it. And I'll probably avoid /vp/ altogether until I beat it once.

Gen V (black/white) got ruined for me because of too much lurking and reading wikis, so I just gave up on black2 and white2.

It will be a fresh start.

But I just get this feeling. A transition to a new system is always rough. Just compare how shitty D/P were compared to B/W for example. Not to mention GameFreak worked on B/W2 simultaneously with X/Y, so they weren't entirely dedicated as they could have been.

Who does anything besides a normal playthrough on their first time?

That means no checking online to see which has better stats, or where to catch them. Just catching mons I think are cool and fucking up the E4 with them.

Only platinum is decent. It didn't fix being the worst region and having the worst pokemon, but it did fix the gameplay at least.

Going through the game as a normal pokemon game first with a friend of mine, once we beat the elite four we will use our team we won with against each other to determine the real champion.

Just going to take my time and explore every house, sideroute, etc. Won't bother with anything like the Battle Frontier, Subway, Musicals, Contests, Pokeathalon, etc. until after the E4 (well, until after the STORY is over, if they pull a BW). I'm not going to go SLOWLY though by any means.

I'm going to probably train a core of three mons, like I do every gen, so I don't waste my time grinding.

Won't catch everything I see, I never do, but I will catch every unique mon. Gotta remember to save often, no savestates here.

Never a nuzlocke, with this pokemon amie thing, I.... I just can't do it. And it would just be asking for an auto-assfucking.
