I think I liked him as a kid.

I know that I picked Charmander in Red.

He's alright, nothing special. I actually dislike all of the Gen 1 final evo's. Bulbasaur is my favourite Gen 1 starter.

I don't like Charizard nearly as much as I once did. I don't really know what happened, he was my favorite growing up, but now I don't consider it to even be top ten material.

He's the le cool/edgy dragon of the Kanto starters that only 10 year olds like. After you hit puberty, you realize he's a rather uninteresting Fire type with an unfortunate quad Rock weakness, and you only ever liked him because Ash had one.

I was always a Blastoise man. Solar Power makes Charizard viable, kinda. I have a buddy who thinks I hate Charizard because of lolrocks, yet Volcarona has lolrocks too. It's not that I hate Charizard because it's popular, I hate Charizard because it's shitty.

I never thought Charizard was that big a deal. Sure, he looks kinda cool, but I only ever picked Charmander once when I was a kid because getting past Brock was way easier with Bulbasaur or Squirtle. On top of that, getting a Fletchling in X is gonna be the first time I've used a Fire/Flying mon in years just because of the double rock weakness.

Bretty cool guy, I didn't like many of the Kanto pokémon in FireRed since I thought they were weak so I mainly used Charizard. I bought 99 full restores for the Elite 4 and beat Gary using only the move Struggle.
