Okay, so I'm a newfag when it comes to emulators. I was thinking it'd be interesting to try a randomized nuzlocke for the first time. I've never used an emulator, and I see all these links in OP, but I have no idea what I'm doing.

extract the files, start it up, set it to softraizer mode under 3D, and set then go to the emulation settings. There you want to turn on JIT. Afterwards you'll need your roms, and you can get those from the links or another site like Romhustler.

Use the rom guide above, you will need a patch for HG/SS before you can play it. For the DS games, there's a few visual glitches, but all of them are temporary, so it shouldn't be a huge issue.

Didn't want to risk it with May, evolved Skull and he took out her whole team with Boomerang.
The Vulpix and Chinchou were simple. Thought Grovyle would would be a challange, but it just spammed with a not very effective Hidden Power so was an easy battle.

Alright, its getting late so this will be my last update.
Forgot about Brawly so I went back and wiped him with my lv 33 Salvador.
Wattson went down easily thanks to my two ground types.
Also found a Tyrogue on route 112, looking at its stats and I may be getting a Hitmonchan at a later stage.

This is the first time that I made it through the first gym in black without any casualties. Cress' panpour just used water gun the entire time on pansage while if it had been scratching the entire time it may have taken out pansage and potentially patrat with it's work up boosted attacks.

My additional rules are:
No items in battle
Battle mode is set
Once the team is full, I cannot catch any new pokemon until one dies.

I used Snivy in my last one but Tepig is a lot better to use this time around.

Any idea what I should do to fight Candice? I'm planning on getting a bunch of Focus Sashes from the guy on Route 221.

My Torterra is Jolly, so I was thinking I could Razor Leaf the Piloswine, take the Avalanche and Razor Leaf again for a 2HKO.

My Bastiodon can easily outlast the Sneasel and the Froslass.

Maybe my Crobat (thank you other anons for the suggestion) can fight the Abomasnow? I could give her a Focus Sash too and then get a 2HKO with Fly.

Any suggestions?

There's an optional clause that if you don't have a Pokemon that can learn a necessary HM you can catch an HM slave that can ONLY be used for that, must be boxed when you get a useable mon, etc.

HOLY FUCK so Archer's Zangoose fucking ko'd all3 of Riley's dudes and swig FUCKING SOLO'd a double battle using Attract/focus punch combo. So I was thinking of adding more restrictive rules to my next nuzlocke.
I was going limit what items I could carry at a max of ten at time, kill all legendaries, only allow Pokecenter heals after major events (I.E. leaving a cave or beating a gym), and try to enforce a fairly strict level cap. Do you think this is too much, or too little? I'd still want this to be fun, but I'm finding normal nuzlockes too boring, hack or not.

Continuing my Eccentric Emerald run from last night.
Missed another chance to catch a new pokemon, a numel in Fiery Path.
On the upside, Kuririn did evolve into a Hitmonchan, only a few more levels to get all his elemental punches.

Kuririn is just a punching beast.

It's been pretty easy so far I've had no fatalities since third gym and just bet the flying one with mainly lector.watson has had about three close calls under thirty health.it's my fourth attempt with all others getting wiped at the fighting gym.

Been a couple of days since I updated, was unable to get to it yesterday.

Got through Sprout Tower with little difficulty. Colonel and Brigadier sweeped up quite nicely.
Went for Umbreon over the others, because I need a good solid tank. So Private upgraded.
Faulkner was just as easy. Grinding Brigadier was a great idea. He cleaned up shop, with help from Sgt.Monty's Rollout.
Got the Egg too, so that'll be fun.
Off to Azalea Town now.

What game/modhack has the best AI? I don't like how I have to just grind harder to win the game. I want a fight that really makes me think and come up with strategies to beat my opponent rather than just pick the pokemon that can kill the next pokemon in one shot.

Biff and Theo have both evolved and only one more level until Kadabro. Caught the Drifloon earlier today, deciding to try my luck at a Honey tree on Route 205 and failed my Eterna forest catch because of Cheryl's Chansey.

Well I'm happy and sad about my Nuzlocke thus far. My Piplup died to Barry's Turtwig and my Starly & Bidoof died to some trainers lvl 8 machop. Luckily I still have my last 3 Pokemon.

Level 6 Batgirl the Zubat
Level 7 Blacklight the Shinx
Level 7 Bullseye the Ponyta.

I will be facing the first gym soon so any advice would be good. :)

Just took out Burgh, I was fortunate enough to get Sneaky in route 4 and set up some pebbles for his 3 part flying type pokemon as well as gib his Leavanny and it's focus sash. I almost lost Aidan though as I forgot Excavalier had an Occa berry so flame wheel didn't take it out.

I finally caught something that can learn fly, but I'm too attached to my current team to substitute someone. The 6th spot has a Riolu egg in it atm.

Steamrolled the last two gyms thanks to Johnson and Jake. Slowly getting my groove back for this playthough. Almost felt like quitting before the 5th gym.

Just a FYI, something I do when I can't choose what starter I use, is I look at the last digit my trainer ID and use the number.
I.E. 1-3 Bulbasaur 4-6 Squirtle 7-9 Charmander

I'm actually playing through SS the first time on Emulator at the moment, it reminds me what annoyed me about Gen 2 a lot, but it's still not bad at all. I just wish I had the item that lets me listen to the 8-bit soundtrack already, it'd make some of it a lot more tolerable.

Yeah, I was planning on playing SG/SS after I beat the original game once. I felt it wrong to do so otherwise. HG/SS is the last main series game I have to play, and I've beaten BB1 and BB2 on challenge mode, so I hope it's as fun as those. (Fuck double/triple battle gyms though)

Ahhh sweet, how far are you in SS? Playing through with some friends who haven't played for years and finding it hard to not just slaughter all the gyms and get ahead of them. Feels too easy after playing hacks

Personally Beedrill can be a huge help in the E4 due to his decent attack stat, but if you had to replace him, Venomoth is a good bug replacement. Give it silver wind with a big mushroom from the move relearner though.

Since yesterday I have captured Roxxy the Geodude. Now all I have to do is grind, find the gym leader, go to the gym and battle and win the first badge. Hopefully if everything goes according to plan no one will die, but you never know in a Nuzlocke.

Anyways the Nuzlocke I'm going by is pretty standard except for a few extra rules.

1.) No legendaries
2.) No Potions, Full Restores, etc. during battles.
3.) No duplicates unless one of them is in the graveyard box.

I will try to show my team to you all before the gym battle in case there's any advice you can give me. :)

Cianwood Gym bested, but not without casualities. One of two pokemon I trained for this gym, Twili the staryu met it's end in battle against Chuck's Poliwrath. I was freaking out because Dora, Fearow, was almost down to half of her HP when the situation forced her to join the battle once again. But when the greatest hopelessness hit us our luck turned! - Dora actually tanked admirably both surf and body slam Poliwrath threw at us and finished him with critical aerial ace.

Also accomplished Safari Zone's tests, and caught some new pokemon, new friends being: Tetis the Slowpoke (Twili's most likely future successor), Coral the Corsola, Halua the Gloom, Treno the Tentacruel and Calhoun the Steelix (2% chance to meet steelix at cliff cave and it's the first thing I see! :O). Honorable mention to Cookie the Krabby who fell during training for gym.

Not ready yet to rush to Olivine gym, there's definitely some more planning and training to do before that. Unexpectedly Dill the Magikarp (hopefully future gyarados) will be teaming with Guren the quilava against Jasmine, at least so it seems so now if my plan plays out good.
