Does anybody play 3v3 ranked random match-up?

I can never win, those Japanese players are insane.
And about half of them have girl avatars? Am I getting pummeled by girls or does Japan, like /vp/, have a thing for girl avatars?
What are some good tactics for 3v3? It's a whole different game than 6v6.
