Pokemon saved my life.

I'm coming out to /vp/ before I tell my family and friends. I've been battling suicide my whole life and until I picked up Pokemon two years ago, I thought I was going to be dead by age 23...

I buried myself in the stories, the characters, the worlds, the writing, the complex themes, they were really amazing. The movies are fantastic pieces of art and I do not understand why they get the hate that they get.

Satoshi Tajiri's genius saved my life. He has the most interesting sense of character I have ever read about in my WHOLE LIFE. He is great, so intense. I felt a little piece of myself in him and I feel I have a spot for every character in Pokemon in my heart to this day.


Ash Ketchum is a character that everyone should feel like. We are all boring and mediocre and waiting for someone to come along and change us, to make us see how great we really are. Ash and Pikachu made me find someone like this and he was there this whole time - Serebii Joe

TL;DR - Don't hate on Pokemon!
