Random number generator, corresponding nat dex number, only one Pokemon per type, one Pokemon per gen (though multiple current gen Pokemon is okay because gen 6 isn't here yet) Occasionally a Pokemon that evolves into another gen is okay but rarely use.

Never have a starter, legendary or eeveelution on the same team as one another, only one allowed per team.

Makes for some pretty interesting results and has forced me to raise Pokemon I otherwise wouldn't.

For in-game teams, I randomly pick a starter and along the way, I catch and use Pokemon I like on a whim. I ignore type coverage completely because it isn't needed; the games are already easy.

For competitive teams, I actually formulated strategies and replaced Pokemon if someone wasn't pulling his or her weight. I took almost everything into consideration.

I guess I'm a smogonfag and a karenfag.

I just use Pokemon that I like. I'm not that into the metagame. I'm good at breeding, just don't like Sneaky pebble tactics. I mostly just battle friends at school.

For competitive teams, I try to prioritize pokemon that I naturally like in lieu of a possible slightly better option sometimes. Terrakion? Not exactly my favorite, so I'll try to avoid it but if it's necessary I can learn to respect it for its ability. Also, there will be pokemon that I absolutely avoid. Keldeo? Sorry, no matter how great of a special sweeper/wallbreaker you may be, I am NOT using your ass.

Also, I have a bit of a weak spot for priority and/or Scarfers, so they'll often find a spot on my team. Pic related. My typical scarfer of choice.
