It uses its pronounced whiskers like dowsing rods to search for water. It is capable of surviving in even the driest of environments.
They come out of the ground at night to search for coins, trinkets and other lost items. They are prized by treasure hunters.
Dowstache can move its whiskers like legs to run out of sight in the blink of an eye and is often mistaken for a whimsical mirage.
I guess it evolves into a more obvious fairy type that's covered in gold or something. Like a leprechaun.
