You can change your hair when the hair salon opens up in your Town. You have to unlock it after time passing and money spent in the Able Sisters/Knock's Shoes (if I recall correctly).
You can choose to wear set clothes, which can be bought from the back row of the Able's Sister's shop, found from other people/trees/neighbors/etc.
You can apply set patterns, found on your pattern screen and 'wear' those as clothes.
You can make a Pro pattern, which allows for greater customization on clothes. The QR codes you see on here are Pro Patterns that can be unlocked when you unlock the Sewing Machine at Ables [talk to the shy, sewing sister for days straight], which will allow you to scan codes for the pattern.
