Ask a guy who just opened up a 1st ed box of Base set 1 that was laying around my house now for 13 years and opened not 1 but 2 1st ed Charizards in that said box anything

Actually a sealed box only runs about 600-1400 in todays market depending on the time of year
1st ed Charizards sell from anywhere $300-1200 and if he pulled 2 he made some change for sure

I "caught" them all as a kid, ie I found at least one card for each Pokemon. I got all the way through the second gen before quitting.

Also, I'm pretty sure I do have a 1st edition Charizard. Hold on, let me check.

1st editions run several thousands for sealed

But since you pulled 2 1st edition charizards, you would be retarded not to get them graded. PSA 10 1st editions sell for 3000+ now. Get all holos graded, sell all but 1 charizard and hold onto that one for several years.

Do you happen to have any resources on average prices for cards, I just discovered I do actually have a number of 1st edition cards that have just been sitting in a drawer for over a decade at this point.

Honestly ebay is your best bet. Check sold listings. Ungraded cards 1st base set in near mint or mint condition will sell for tens of bucks, but high grade (9 or 10) 1st holos sell for hundreds or thousands for charizard. Even 1st ed. common and uncommon and non holo rares are still worth grading if you can guarantee that high of grade of 10. Those can sell from 50-100 a pop.

Oh, so for the most part they're not likely to be super valuable then.

I do in fact have a 1st edition Charizard, but it's in pretty poor condition. Though that's not exactly surprising, as I used to trade these cards out at recess back in elementary/middle school. So much for my sudden dreams of rolling in cash.

you never know charizard itself is probably around 50-75. Some buyers online don't care as much as condition and are just trying to complete a set. So if you have enough you could always sell all of yours in a lot and pull 100-200. You never know. If I were you I would follow what I said to the guy about his charizards except for grading and hold onto it. Sell the rest
