B&W doesn't look that bad in the official art but in the anime it didn't seem right to me, I don't know. I only saw like 3 episodes when I was trying to waste time though.

I think I like Advanced Generation Ash the best. After five seasons of the original outfit, to have a new one was so incredibly refreshing. Now it's expected, so the outfits don't impress me much.

That said, the new one is a pretty cool costume, though I feel like the show is moving closer and closer to a generic sales-increasing game anime than the original series, and I can't help but see that in his new outfit. Dunno if that makes sense.

Does time pass in the anime? I know Ash doesn't age, but it seems odd having traveled 5+ regions, catching dozens of pokemon and losing just about every league while time seems really move no where. It's as if his entire journey has only been a few months long or something.

Ash has had plenty of slightly older male companions that don't act too different from him... and the newest games' protags have been older without any real changes to the style of the in-game plot (as in it's still a childish plot focused on you saving the world despite the fact that all the strongest adult trainers somehow can't).

I don't see how Ash being older, while still being a kid, would actually change anything in the anime's plot or how it's made.

XY Ash looks taller. LOOKS taller. I'm not one to nostalgiafag, but I like how around Gen III he appeared older, as he managed to mentor May when she was starting out as a trainer. Another reason the anime sucked ass after Gen IV(It always sucked but III is where it looked like it was gonna make a turn for the better).
