Includes dual/types. If a pokemon was Grass/Ground, it got added to Grass and Ground.
Why the fuck are there so many water types? Perhaps a critique on humans dependence on water in real life?

Probably because theres a shitload of possible water type Pokemon, because if they live in/near water they probably have the water type. Where as every other pokemon is either a flying type, or an animal that lives on land which can be any type.

The only thing that out numbers sea life are bugs, thus why they have so many water types.
Also, most water creatures are easy to turn into pokemon.

When you have water routes, you need fish. When you have fish, you make them inevitable water types. I seriously hope we get a bunch of non-water pokes for the water routes in Kalos. They can be fish, but make them different combinations, like pure grass seaweed or dark/elec anglers or even a pure fire fish (with or without water absorb/hydration). Maractus and Darumama took damage in sand and they still thrived, so it's not too improbable.
