>>12863544Honestly I was more impressed with Empoleon. Torterra was the odd one out with its godawful typing and bizarre design and Infernape overlapped painfully with Blaziken, though the Son Goku reference was neat.
Overall I think my favorite set of starters are gen 3's, but I haven't liked a grass starter AT ALL since Venusaur (who grew on me over the years, I used to hate him back then).
As for your taste in music, I think Gen 4 was definitely comparable in quality to 3 and 5.
