I know /vp/ has a boner for Colosseum and XD so... Orre Region general thread!

I'm playing Colosseum for the first time. Got to thug city... But I can't level my Pokémon well. Should I ignore 'snaging 'em all'? It's a ridiculous amount of work to purify...

I've literally just completed the story for XD earlier today. I just need to purify all the Pokemon, find Bonsly and get the Lucky Egg. In Colosseum the purification method was incredibly slow (I think I ended up hacking in loads of time flutes in the end). But in XD, the process is much quicker and more efficient.

OP, I'd try catching them all, but don't bother purifying them. And be sure to give XD a go after. It took everything that was great in Colosseum and improved it (although Wes is cooler than Michael).

It's really hard to level your pokemon at the beginning of the game because you fight a bunch of NFEs, but that's normal.

You wont be able to purify your Pokemon till Agate Village, which depeding on how you do is only 2-4 hours away.

Once you are able to purify your Pokemon, you can train a bit at the Phenac Colosseum. I'd do it mostly for the TMs then move on to the Pyrite Colosseum if you need more training. I recommend having your Pokemon at least at the high 30's early 40's if you want to go there though.

As for snagging them all, unless you are a completionist, it doesn't really matter if you want them all, unless you want a Ho-oh, but by the time you get Ho-oh you would pretty much complete everything they game has to offer.

Yeah, that's it. I just end up wandering around talking to the same people over and over again until I finally hit the right NPC. I'm not bad at RPGs, but this is killing me.

Also, can anyone tell me where I can find a complete copy of XD ( box and manual) in good condition? Hopefully without being an ass.

It looks like there are some complete copies on ebay; they seem to be going for about $30 with the box and manual included.

Everyone with a Shadow Pokémon can be rematched at some point, though for some, you might have to wait until the postgame. If you were hoping to use that Pokémon right now, though, you might be shit out of luck.

I wish I could go back to Colosseum and XD but going back to any generation that doesn't have a physical/special split is painful. I wonder if it's possible to hack it in and play on an emulator?
