Nevermind the game has several mechanics that make sense FOR A GAME but from a story standpoint, completely undermine their message... such as being allowed to capture and hunt Pokemon indiscriminately, only getting to keep 6 on you at any time and keep all the others locked away in boxes on some dude's computer, and eating sentient animals (Farfetch'd, anyone?).
The fact is that it is a game and thus we can gloss over things like that. But for anyone to insist that it'd be true in the real world as well... is probably not old enough to be on this board.
