Leaf was never even a standalone trainer.

Plus Barry was miles better than Champion/Gym leader Green.

If we count up to gen 6, our 3 best are Red, Barry, and Cynthia.

Sorry anon, I missed getting BW2 when it was brand new, and it would seem like a waste to get it with BW only about 6 or less months away.

Plus, I've read he only uses like 3 pokemon and two are the lati@s squad. Garchomp alone could take them and the rest could simply outlast him.

If you play through platinum enough then Barry's team gets higher than Red's original team along with being better assembled.

I think either his starter or his snorlax beats out G/S/C Red's Pikachu for single highest leveled NPC owned pokemon. Until Pikachu's buff in HG/SS

I don't get why people hate Barry for being hyper, some people are just like that. Barry is more friend than rival but he's still competitive and a good challenge. Plus, you can really see just how excited he is to be on his own journey with his pokemon.

Game wise, Green and Leaf are two different beings. (Green being practically non existent everywhere outside Japan aside from that piece of beta art you posted)

The manga is not canon. The game and the mango are two different universes.
