Just realized; possible connection between the new Ghostmon and Jabberwocky or the Alice in Wonderland stories? I love them so I would hope so. Also, people speculate that the ghostmon Gengar is partially based on the Cheshire Cat, no? Speculate!

A lot of hate for this new Pokémon but actually love the design with the eerie reptilian eye on the hilt and ghostly hand/tuft of cloth thing coming from the handle. A cursed blade is a good concept for a steel/ghost.

2 minutes and 1 minute lapses in thread activity do not warrant 'bumps'.

That said, Monorpale is only the French name, I believe. Whilst it's possible it could still be a reference to the Vorpal blade, I find it more likely that something is being referenced, though my lack of knowledge about the French language is preventing me from saying so with any degree of certainty.

maybe mix the color and pattern of the dark one with the build of the light and just pretend that Light type isn't only marginally less retarded than a Fairy type and that'd actually make an okay generic two stage cat pokemon.

It strikes me as an odd name, especially when you consider that Hexcalibur ties it more closely to Fairies than Ghosts.

Hmm, a translator tells me that 'vorpale' means 'voracious'/'hungry', so it could hunger for 'mons. Or it's a monopoly blade, which would suggest it's the best. I can see both origins making some degree of sense.
