Their cries are all together but if you listen closely you can distinguish the proper original cry.

Steelix actually roared. Not that his original cry wasnt badass. Maybe they can have an ingame item like the GB Sounds that will let us choose.

Pikachu most likely won't have that voice in the real game, and if it does, it will be a pikachu thing only just because of being the mascot and such.
Tyranitar does use his original cry, I don't know what you're talking about there.

I don't understand how people are STILL denying that they're not updating the cries this gen when some of them are so obvious

They are remixed version of the original cry. It's clearly still an 8-bit sound. They just take the original cry and play it backwards, or stutter the first half, to give it more variety than just the single cry. It's the equivalent of Pikachu saying "pika-pika" instead of "pikachu".

Snorlax does use its original cry at first. When the player rubs its head, it then uses something that sound like 2 altered versions of its original cry. But ok, this one is certainly not the original one. But the first certainly IS.
