I haven't been following X/Y news to closely, has anyone at Game Freak talked about being able to transfer pokemon from other generations to X/Y?

At E3 they said they haven't been able to sort it out yet. Don't expect to be able to do it. However, do expect a huge regional Pokedex.

During the roundtable at E3 they mentioned that they're currently working on getting Pokemon to transfer.

It seems like they currently don't have one, but they may release somesort of 3DS transfer app.

There'll probably be an e-shop app out for it or something. I doubt they'd say that they're "working on it" if there's no hope of one ever coming out. Also DQM is already backwards compatible with its respective DS game, so it's fully possible.

I was thinking the same thing; unless the Pokémon data structure is radically changed (like it was from Gen 2 to Gen 3), I suspect that they'll end up resorting to a transfer app.

Makes me wonder if the Dream Radar app was a proof-of-concept app to test 3DS-to-NDS Pokémon data transferring....

Dream Radar was just a Mystery Gift app. It worked the same way getting an event Pokemon from Gamestop works.
