Fairy is strong against Dragon, Fighting, and Dark, and is weak against Steel and Poison.

this, there are no triangles exactly the same as water fire grass, rock fly fight would be cool though, and it's just as consistent just 1x on themselves instead of 0.5x

It would depend on the first few gyms. In the original games the types were chosen to serve as a difficulty mode. Grass was easy (strong against first 2 gyms and resistant to 3rd), Water was medium (strong on first, even with 2nd) and fire was Hard mode (weak against first 2). I guess Game Freak forgot about that.
