I'm the only one who thinks the pokemon 3d models are ugly? I mean, they don't have even texture, they all look like made of plastic. That's not even hard to do!

I was expecting more of a Colosseum/gale of darkness 3d model style. I actually really enjoyed those. and they all had a unique stance animation. (Yes i know the stadium models were recycled) From what i've seen, all the x/y models literally just STAND there. It's really boring looking.

The only problem I have with the X/Y models is that some of them look unsaturated, even when compared to the Sugimori art.

Well OP, they're trying to stay true to Sugimori's art, his illustrations didn't have any textures (other than paper + watercolor texture) until he started doing digital, and even then the textures he uses are very subtle, I'm sure they're doing the same but since it's such a small screen you can't have too many details without it looking like a mess.
I think it's great that even the cell shading looks like Sugimori's shading, it's a really nice touch.

Well that's probably because of the sun. Since the whole game relies on a light source it'd depend on the time of day and where the light's coming from to determine what the colors will look like.
If you open up a 3D software you will usually automatically have a light source, I'm sure they used the same colors but the environment is the one causing the different color saturation.

Then if that were the case, they should just modify the base colors to compensate. Because even on different fields the colors don't seem to make a difference.

Well even if the colors in the field battle screenshot is almost identical to Pikachu's original illustration colors and the other two are slightly different, even if it's subtle there's still a difference in environment lighting.
Also take into account Pokemon.com's shitty .jpeg quality.

Well, now that we've got 3 1/2 months left, i'd assume that all videos and screenshots we get from here on out are going to be very close to the final product. Don't they have to spend a couple months shipping and manufacturing?

It's 3 months away. You could say that back when Newtwo was revealed, but at this point what we're seeing will probably be very close to what we'll be getting.

Well it seems like Pikachu's cheeks are pink in the original illustration but are a dark red where the shadows casts. If in the game the shadows were to cast on the cheeks I'm sure they would look more red..

Pokedex 3D was developed by Creatures, inc. and even thought they're like twins who share one heart they're still two different developing companies and the quality and development team are different. Reason why the art style of Pokemon XD and Colosseum is so different.

6 years, really? I'm very confident that by next Gen they'll have the 3DS down pat. This gen should have at least 1 more game for Kalos, and hopefully remakes, so that's a lot of developing right there.

Unless Nintendo pumps out a totally different console and they move on to that.

As much as I love Skyrim, Pokemon isn't Skyrim. Pokemon games are made to look cartoonish and they're not played on a console/pc.
