I thought I was well prepared for the Elite Four in my second playthrough of Platinum, but it was much harder than expected. I've just managed to beat Volkner and Flint in the Battle Zone, after spamming revives since they decided to make my Pokemon their sole target while Barry's Snorlax spammed Earthquake.
I feel like such a casual for finding this much challenge in a Pokemon game, but it feels pretty good at the same time, like I've accomplished something for once. Does my team suck or something?
I know some of the movesets are shit, I plan on teaching Gyarados Bounce and giving Gengar more coverage, and I'm still waiting for Houndoom to learn Crunch.
I've just beat the Elite Four and reached the battle zone, my team is:
Torterra (Brave) Level 53
Crunch
Rock Slide
Wood Hammer
Earthquake
Gengar (Modest) Level 51
Shadow Ball
Psychic
Dark Pulse
Night Shade
Houndoom (Mild) Level 50
Faint Attack
Fire Fang
Flamethrower
Thunder Fang
Gyarados (Adamant) Level 54
Bite
Ice Fang
Earthquake
Waterfall
Staraptor (Jolly) Level 52
Quick Attack
Return
Close Combat
Fly
Porygon-Z (Modest) Level 53
Psybeam
Tri Attack
Discharge
Recover
