It is objective fact that Gen III is the worst gen pokemon has had thus far:

>worst designs in the series by far with very few good or creative designs
>terrible soundtrack
>convoluted routes, ample back tracking before you get the fly HM, water routes
>uninteresting characters, horrible rival
>started the horrible "fire/fighting" trend
>with the exception of double battles and more held items provided little to no improvements

seriously anyone who can honestly say hoenn was the best gen has some ridiculous nostalgia goggles. every other gen in the series had a much greater impact. Im glad R/S/E got skipped for remakes and hope R/G/B/Y get another remake just to rub it in.
